In the giant WHOOPS department.....the internets told me it was OK

    Now here's a PR nightmare that started off with entirely good intentions.

    To honour the memory of the Canadian soldiers who died in the First World War, Ancestry.ca was offering, until the end of the month, a free Web search of military databases that contained the records of this country's soldiers.

    Problem is, the photograph they used in the ad is of a German soldier.

    Johnathan Vance, a history professor at the University of Western Ontario, blamed the error on a Google search gone bad.

    "History can be quite tricky," Mr. Vance said. "But this is a really embarrassing mistake."

  12. A gator's snout is wider, although I guess if you have just one photo, you wouldn't necessarily know which one it is.

    Or are you asking about the Germans?
