I'm awful, I know...

    Well, Time-Warner has bought my cable company, Adelphia. I could care less because Adelphia sucks, anyway.

    So I call DirecTv, because I have but one receiver. I tell them about Time-Warner buying my cable company and there are all kinds of rumors about specials, new deals, etc.

    Truth is, I've been wanting to upgrade my DirecTv service, anyway, but the representative blurts out: "Mr. Colton, what would it take to keep you as a customer?" Caught by surprise, I reply, "Well, I want/need a second receiver for the bedroom and I've been thinking about a DVR." Rep says, "Can you hold for two or three minutes, Mr. Colton?"

    A few minutes later, he returns to the line and offers me a second receiver -- for free -- a DVR -- for free -- and six months of premium programing -- for free -- if I agree to remain a subscriber.

    "Ummmm, OK," I reply.

    They ask if Sunday between 1-5 will be OK for installation.

    With the local channels coming with it, I'll be calling Time-Warner on Monday to inform them I no longer want their services.

    YAY! Time Warner sucks.

    We just got it here and they took off the NFL channel. Fuckers.
