Sounds like the guy tried to run the Daily News into the ground in order to start a weekly paper. That's pretty messed up.

  2. A CNHI paper?
Publisher should have let CNHI work it's own magic.
He should have been more patient.

Effingham has one of the greatest nicknames in all of high school sports -- the Flaming Hearts. That's all I have.

Great stopping place along 57 or 70 on the way to St. Louis. Living there? Ehh. :)

Mrs. Stain worked there for a few years after college, knows most of the people involved, and is fascinated.

I didn't hate living there, but it wasn't anything special.

Don't know what the guy did, but I doubt he's the first to plan to launch a business rival (in any field).

The main thing they are mad about, apparently, is that he poached sales reps.

Grew up there. That paper has taken a beating and it never was very good.

Jesus, that's got to be 30 feet tall, at least.

You should see it in person. It's huge.

CNHI has no case unless the guy cooked the books or unless he had a non-compete in a contract, I think.
