And, Flasher, can you name a band that has any significance, post-1986?

    What about Frozen Ghost?

And yes, I am a Blue Rodeo fan too.

Try was another ballad they played constantly at dances.

Cutting Crew wasn't Canadian, was it? The Spoons, featuring the delectable Sandy Horne, played my high school once. Blue Peter (who did the awesome "Radio Silence") and The Dice were two other great Toronto bands of that era.

Tragically Hip. :p But they have no significance past 1996.

And you're right ... Cutting Crew was British. Sorry ...

    How about ...

    Toronto? Sheriff? THE HEADPINS!

For current significance, however, I give you that bag of crap, Nickelback.

How about solo artists Nelly Furtado and Alanis? I'd give you Barenaked Ladies but I find them moderately embarrassing, too ...

Nelly Furtado's Canadian? I'll give you Alanis, too, I suppose. And yes, BNL is made of fail.

Furtado hails from Vancouver Island ... same as Pam. How about Lavigne and her hubby's band, Sum 41?

Sum 41 sucks. All pop punk sucks.
