If you could go back in time...

OK, so if we can go back in time, do we know what will happen in the game, and can we change the course of history?

If so, I'd yell out to Merkle not to forget to touch second, yell at the Black Sox that they're going to get banned for life, and yell at Chapman to not try to bunt.

I was at this game (hi, Manky!):

If I could go back and see one it might be this one and see if it was as great as I remember when I was there live:

In his book, Tom Cheek, the Jays' late, great radio voice called it one of the best games ever played at shitty old Exhibition Stadium. Jays had a great rivalry with the Tigers in those days, Jimmy Key and Dan Petry were both masterful, each going 10, and I was sitting about 20 feet from where Buck Martinez's homer landed in the left field bleachers to win it in the 12th.

These come to mind. Put'em in a hat and draw one out:

The game where Ripken passed Gehrig. Saw it on TV. Had to be awesome live.
    April 8, 1974. Ditto.
Game 6 of 1992 NLCS. Was there, but I needed a new prescription for my glasses and had trouble seeing the ball most of the night. I'd want to go back with better glasses.
    Jackie Robinson's first game.

First time I let a tear fall a bit while watching sports. Just an awesome sight and I remember it well. I was in my bedroom with my 17" TV.

You really want to see the Pirates kick the shit of of the Braves? Even knowing the heartache coming a day later?

This has nothing to do with the actual topic on-hand...but the time-travel thing made me remember this:

    The Swede's a hard guy.

As a Braves fan, probably Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS.

As a baseball fan, one of the perfect games: either Larsen or Koufax.

    For me, this is easy.

    1988.

    Mariners-Angels.

I can still hear Enrico Palazzo with the anthem. Curt Gowdy, Mel Allen, Dick Enberg, Joyce Brothers and others on the radio call.

One hell of a brawl. Reggie Jackson. Ricardo Montalbahn. The Queen in attendance.

I'll never forget that sunny afternoon. I want to go back.
