Roll Call's site has crashed, but it's reporting that two weeks ago GOP Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho was arrested for trying to solicit sex in a men's room.

    Wasn't this in Minneapolis?

He's just scouting the hot spots for when the '08 convention hits town.

Good news for McCain - Craig was backing Romney in 08.

Another repressed, self-loathing head-case in a position of power.

In his fourth term, Craig, 61, is married to a woman, with three adopted children and nine grandchildren. He sits on the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee and is the chairman of the Veteran Affairs Committee. He also sits on the board of directors of the National Rifle Association. Craig has a zero rating from the Human Rights Campaign.

    * Voted YES on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. (Jun 2006)
    * Voted NO on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)
    * Voted NO on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. (Jun 2000)
    * Voted YES on prohibiting same-sex marriage. (Sep 1996)
    * Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

    Most horrifying of all:

In 1995, Craig formed a barbershop quartet called The Singing Senators with Senators Trent Lott, John Ashcroft, and James Jeffords.[18]

And this would all be pretty funny if it weren't so heartbreakingly sad.

he's also got a 100 percent rating from Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition.

I'm still waiting for the VH1 Behind the Music: "The Singing Senators" :Their rise (singing "Elvira" at the Republican National Convention), their fall (breaking up with the defection of Jim Jeffords), their hardships (Trent Lott getting bounced from the majority leader and Ashcroft losing his senate seat. And their rebound (Lott named minority whip and Ashcroft named attorney general.

I'd be willing to venture that there are a few more Craig's on Capitol Hill-closet homosexual GOP'ers repressed by their party's hateful ideology.
