I have my three-month, post-radiation CAT scan of my head and neck on Tuesday. Not gonna lie, deeply anxious about it and have been for a while. Even though all signs are pointing in the right direction -- the one-month checkup with blood work, etc. was all good, I've healed up extremely well, my leg doesn't feel weak anymore -- I just cannot find peace of mind.

Part of it, I think, is that I have lymphedema in my neck from where they removed more than 100 lymph nodes, so fluid pools there and I wake up mornings and the side of my face feels like cement. They gave me exercises to do, to re-route the fluid to the other side of my neck, to hopefully retrain my lymphatic system to move fluids along a different path to my gut. The doctors had never mentioned lymphedema as a side effect, but now it seems like it's something I'll be dealing with for the rest of my life.

Just want to fast forward a week and have the results.

    Sorry, just needed to vent.

Hang in there, CDB. It’s easy for me to say (and impossible for me to follow my own advice) but worrying isn’t going to change anything. Sending good thoughts your way.
