HuffPo sued by bloggers

Bloggers suing HuffPo for $109 million claiming they should get some of the cash from the sale to AOL. If you work for free up front, why do you think a company will pay you for that same work down the line?

They're relying on the old Comedy Store lawsuit that led to those comedians being paid.

But that lawsuit was settled, not tried in court, because the owner didn't want the bad publicity and didn't want to give up her spot at the top of the comedy pecking order. So it doesn't look like there's much precedent other than if Arianna Huffington feel like she couldn't survive without the stable of writers she has now.

And the jackassery of comparing the bloggers to slaves is more than enough to get this one tossed out of the court of public opinion, anyway.

Yeah. They should have compared them to college athletes.
