How was this show NOT a hit?

I'm in the same boat, Gomer.

If it's not football or college basketball, I ain't watching. Or paying close enough attention for my opinion to matter worth a dog damn.

Damnit, I'd have absolutely no reason to watch that show, except for the fact that Sasha Cohen was on it. I had no idea. Shit.

Do you remember watching sitcoms before you got into the biz? I do - vaguely. Now I can barely sit through an episode of anything my wife watches, including supposedly good shows like How I Met Your Mother (I think that's the name of it).

Yeah, but now I don't watch TV much at all. Even if it's supposed to be a "great" show.

I think the rest of us blew our chances to write a network show.

Desperate exec: "OK what do you have?"
Us: "Well it's an idea about a message board for sports writers..."
Desperate exec: "Give us 26 half-hours."
Us: "But we haven't told you anything else..."
Desperate exec: "A show about nothing? That's hip. no one's ever done that. Make it 52 half-hours."
Us: "But most of us can only handle writing 800 words at a time."
Desperate exec: "You'll be fine. Make it 78 half-hours."
    Us: "Can we show tits?"
Desperate exec: "You'll make enough episodes to end up in syndication my friend."

CBS' quick trigger on Viva Laughlin took a possibly weekly segment from The Soup.

    So yeah, CBS sucks.

Starring Brad Renfro as Bitter Young Hack ... oh, wait.

At least she's old enough to get a beer. If she weren't old enough to drive, then you'd really feel guilty.

I believe the fact that they tracked viewership plummeting as the show progressed told them what they probably already knew - "this is a bad idea"
