    Sincerity goes a long way in explaining ladder moves. Don't be afraid to address rationales but don't over-offer information either. Employers want to know what you can do to make their products better now; how you got to now is not as important.

    It really all depends. I just took a $10K pay cut to land at my current job. But with cost of living factored in, I actually make more money now. You only live life once. Don't stay in a shitty situation for a long time. You'll regret losing that time eventually.
