Mexican food doesn't have much of a profile in the Toronto area (Indian and south Asian food on the other hand...), but there is a Chipotle right downtown on Front. St. in the same neighbourhood as the Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre and the entertainment district. Will be interesting to see if it gains any traction up here.

Is Chipotle doing anything that Subway wasn't doing 20 years ago?

The chips get you, too. About 500 calories in that bag.

    Easy enough solution to that.

Chipotle is a much better version of this place which has a fair number of locations in Canada.

Never heard of the place even though their website shows a number of them not far from me. Guy I know who is big into Mexican tells me that Burrito Boyz, with a number of locations, for now anyway, in the Toronto area, is pretty good.

Yes it is. There's one in our hood and I love their food.

Yup. Order the kid version. Was just there today. At the original location. So. Damn. Good. Been a fan for many, many years and think what Steve Ellis does is great.

What about the blood stains in your underwear after eating at Chipotle?

It's a pretty similar path. Both are labeled as the healthier alternative to fast food, both have advertised that you can diet by eating their food.

Subway doesn't seem to be as popular as it was about a decade or so ago, but I'm guessing Chipotle wouldn't mind having the kind of staying power that Subway has had.
