Hostels (not the movie)

Please don't movie jack this or tell me to watch out for someone who will give me a tour of some strange place. Please.

I'm looking at a short trip. I don't want to do a day trip, but can't afford a hotel. Has anyone stayed in a hostel? Good points? Bad points? I'd basically just need a place to sleep for a couple hours, then I'll be up and out in the morning.

 

I hear truck stops are good for this kind of thing.

 

You like living in a barracks? Because that's what a hostel is like — buncha bunk beds in a room, everybody shares the shower.

 

I don't know what hostels cost, but what about a Super 8 Motel or something like that? Usually $40-50 for a night.

 

I can get a private room for $40.

And Hank, not in NYC.

 

If nothing else, there's potential for quite an orgy.

Aren't there restrictions on age in hostels?

Are there?? I hadn't seen that anywhere. That would throw a spanner in things. (Hi GB!!!)

if that's just an age dig...well, screw you!

 

Have no idea what they're like here, but the one's I stayed in without private rooms on travel around Britain, Europe and part of Asia were pretty decent.

The biggest thing would be to check how many bathrooms/showers there are per room.
