This was called a first down.

And yeah. Deserves repeating: The SEC apparently thought the LSU/UGA crew was so phenomenal that they gave them a Florida game. No, there is no crisis of integrity in the SEC, none at all.

In case you didn't notice (and attending a game in person would help), those yellow lines are visible only on TV. They're also not infallible.

Everyone gets bad calls against them and in their favor. It all evens out in the end. Florida fans used to think they got robbed every year against FSU and Georgia. No fan who loves one team and hates another is ever satisifed with the calls -- ever.

I find it hard to believe that an organization with such a longstanding tradition of integrity like the SEC would have crookedly-officiated league games.

Hondo, those yellow lines are too often right-on, though.

That looked like a bad call.
I'm happy to see Alabama get it's due, for now.

My prediction for BCS title game is USC vs. Alabama.

Not my fault your team lost. Or the team you hate won.

With some of these guys here, if you start talking about football games being fixed by on-field personnel who are the middle managers of a billion-dollar industry -- and this is not brain surgery -- you might as well be talking about the Loch Ness Monster or the Illuminati.

As the Jack Lemmon character says so disgustedly in JFK:
    "Oh, you are so naive."

Or you could admit the officials sucked a wet sock in the Arkansas/Florida game, and have been allowing Tebow to make an ass of himself after every first down while, to name the obvious one, flagging AJ Green for being happy.

No, one loss just eliminates USC. SEC teams just get a free pass, even if the loss is at home.

True. But never, ever by more than a full yard.

True again. But a two-loss Florioda team (Arkansas, then to Alabama in the SEC title game) has a much, much smaller chance of at-large BCS bid.

Or it could have been like the browns game today...they measure, the ball is three links short, they give them a first down (with no explanation) and the game continues while Rob Ryan has a fit on the sidelines.
