Going to be 84 for a high in Austin today. 55 on Thursday, though! It's about time we had some fall weather.

From my vantage point (current temperature: 82 F), the only difference between -27 C and -27 F is my reaction if I were ever offered a job from one of those places).

    "NO!"

    and

    "HELL NO!"

It's about 70 here. It's in the 60s where I'm headed. I'm ready to go!

    -27 C = -17F

    Still pretty damn cold.

However, get down to -35C and that's -31F.

    Flash,
It's going to be 16C in The Centre of the Universe tomorrow.

Then it's going to plummet to 6C on Friday.

See? You should have moved here.

They both hit -40 at the same temp though, and we do get that cold.

Beef, you're right. -40 is the same in both measurements.

There is a difference. -39 is more of a cutting cold and the pain comes much more quickly. You can go outside in -27 if you're bundled up good, in -39 your car better be plugged and the only time you're outside is running between the car and indoors. I believe they close schools at -30.
