    One of the Post headlines was "Phil Rizzuto: Traded to The Angels"

    The quote I saw was something along the lines of "I didn't know it was going to be R-rated," but I don't think he was too pissed about it.

    I just checked wikipedia, and while it doesn't really have anything to add Meat Loaf-wise, it does include this:

    On another occasion, Healy impishly introduced Rizzuto's return to the broadcast booth by saying, "Here's Scooter, back from the men's room," leading to the following exchange:

    * RIZZUTO: "Healy, you huckleberry, you're not supposed to tell people that. Tell them I went to see Bill Veeck (the White Sox president). Besides, Healy, I've been drinking coffee all day. You know what happens when you drink coffee all day?"
    * HEALY: "What's that, Scooter?"
    * RIZZUTO: "You go see Bill Veeck."

    Wikipedia also had this poem:

    * Legs

    The legs are so important.
    In golf, they're very,
    People don't realize
    How important legs are in golf,
    Or in baseball,
    And football, definitely.
    Track.
    O, in track.
    All-important.
    Jumping.
    Soccer.
    Is there anything, what?
    Is there anything where the legs
    Are not the most important?

    It also notes Rizzuto donated his proceeds from the book to children's charities.

    some favorite TV memories:

    (the pope died)...."that could put a damper on even a yankee win"

    saw this clip: (ricky henderson catches a fly ball in left, thinks there are three outs instead of two and starts running in whilst a runner is on base)
    PR: "Ricky! Ricky! there are only two outs! (Ricky wakes up and tosses it in)..."It's a good thing he heard me White!"
    White: "I'm sure he heard you Phil.."

    Remember this one first person...
    PR, "We're talking to Frank Quilci, Twins GM, during this rain delay, tell us about those youngsters on the farm....HEY, HEY! IS THAT VIC DAMONE?"
    Quilci, "Well, we got this kid throwing really well down at Triple A...."
    PR, "GET OVER HERE VIC! MY WIFE'S GOT ALL YOUR RECORDS..."
    Quilci, "...and think he could be really good..."
    PR, "HOLY COW, VIC DAMONE UP HERE IN THE BOOTH, WOW!"

    OR...
    PR: That game was so exciting last night, I almost drove off the GW...

    Is there a way I could download Rizzuto's induction speech to show my grandma, who doesn't have access to the Internet?
