Hey pottymouth Pete Rose ... think of the children!

Cincy Enquirer story on the Army inviting Pete Rose to talk to kids:

"It was a complete embarrassment," said Staff Sgt. Steven Tischer, commander of the Colerain-Highland Ridge U.S. Army Recruiting Station that sponsored the baseball camp for 7- to 14-year-olds. "You don't swear in front of kids, that's just common sense. He dropped the F-bomb and the S-bomb. He told them winning is everything and if you get second place you're just losers."

That comes as a great surprise.

Before he entered the training camp, Rose bet the over on the number of F-bombs that would be dropped that day. When he learned that nobody else was willing to say the word, he felt the need to compensate.

And why is the Army asking someone with Rose's history to speak to children?

Maybe they were trying to get him to join up.

I am a bit uncomfortable with Army recruiting station sponsoring anything to do with kids. It would be analogous to a cigarette company sponsoring event. Are they trying to get kids into the fold early as it becomes more difficult to recruit?

I feel most in balance with the world when Pastor says something with sarcasm.

Because, you know, the blue font and all. ;)
