    Check out the Waco Brothers.
Their sound has been described by some as (Johnny) Cash meets (The) Clash

My BIL just returned from Iraq and I know he listened to a lot of heavy metal. I can see if we still have the CD mixes saved and forward them your way.

How about Boston? (My hubby's fave.)

I would say no music collection is complete without George Jones, Patsy Cline and Waylon Jennings.

Any suggestions you're liking more than the others so far?

Wow, checked out some of their stuff on YouTube. That's tremendous stuff, thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Lucero is another cool band I first heard about on SportsJournalists.com.

Just saw the Punch Brothers last night in concert, and they were freaking amazing. Chris Thile (of Nickel Creek fame) formed them. Pretty much all their stuff if outstanding.

Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin and Live from Nowhere in Particular albums. The Y Guy can vouch, I'm thinking.

If you like swamp/blues/funk - JJ Grey and Mofro. Country Ghetto, Blackwater and Lochloosa albums.

Just throwing these against the wall to see if they might stick:

    Soundgarden, A Sides
    The Best of Cream
Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds

And for something that's completely different

Linda Ronstadt's Greatest Hits (if only for When Will I Be Loved--a guaranteed toe tapper, sing along song).

John Fogerty does a great duet on this one with Springsteen on his new album.

It's been really tough at work, this week, finding enough time in the evenings to work on it, but I'm digging what I've heard, so far.
