You trying to discipline posters while on dial-up is akin to a mother on bed rest telling her child to brush his teeth and take a bath.

I have been to the Spooner Bakery. And most definitely, yum.

Tell us how the wedding worked out, how much cash the bride got in the dollar dance, and if you can still do the mazurka or shodish like a good Upper Midwesterner.

Ad now here's one for da younger folks!

    "Left a good job in da cit-eee ... "

And the Lamont Cranston Band still rocks.

I've brought up the dollar dance down here and they look at me like I was from Mars... never heard of it...

I'm back. And very happy to have my high-speed internet.

The wedding was as perfect as it could get. It was amazing. Although the 10,000 bobby pins for my hairdo (or 'updo' as they called it) were threatening to bore through my skull by the end of the night.

The dollar dance was very profitable for the newlyweds. My other brother (the best man) told me what they took in, but I don't remember right now. It was, I think, one of the longest dollar dances on record and it wasn't just dollars given, there were fives, tens and twenties.

More later, right now I'm going to unpack, start laundry since I leave for a week in St. Paul soon and just unwind.

    I'm tired!

Wait, the dollar dance is a regional thing?

I've never heard of it. My brother was married 3 years ago and to my knowledge there was no dollar dance.

My favorite thing about Hayward is the bars that have the really big fish mounted behind glass, like Lenin used to be.
Rosie, have a Leinie's and chill. Listen to the loons.
    Not us.
    The real loons.

Must be... last one I ran was for a buddy of mine and in small-town Manistee, Michigan, we raised 580 bucks... Of course, that's including people who danced with the bride and the groom.
In relaying the story here, people asked "what's a dollar dance?"

Bet they never heard of blackberry brandy, either...

Never heard of blackberry brandy? The cure for absolutely everything??!!

Well, I'm back on the road shortly, this time to the Cities.

Anyone going to the Saints game on Friday?
