Bad day by the tOSU quarterback today against a really bad opponent, though Quinn still has that Michigan game hanging over him and Slaton fumbled twice against UL.

Can they just give next year's winner two trophies?

Because I fear I might want to take back my vote, I'll wait to reply here.

Smith might be the best player in the country, but given his pedestrian games against both Penn State and Illinois, I would love for someone else to stand out during the final month.

Right now, a vote by me for Smith would be a vote by default.

I can't imagine any scenario where Smith doesn't win it...

If Reggie Ball had been a more consistent quarterback, it would be fun to argue on Calvin Johnson's behalf. But alas ...

I'd say it's Troy Smith ... but Colt McCoy's stock is on the rise. (No need to inform me he's a freshman. I know he's a freshman.)

    It should be Smith.

    Oh, and you suck, Pringle.

A dangerous opponent that's better than its record indicates.

Pluses: leads the country in TDs

Negs: Plays on SmurfTurf, only a sophomore, crochets in his spare time (most unmanly)

The five biggest margins of victory:

1750 votes -- O.J. Simpson over LeRoy Keyes
1622 -- Charlie Ward over Heath Shuler
1574 -- Desmond Howard over Casey Weldon
1563 -- Ricky Williams over Michael Bishop
1541 -- Vinny Testaverde over Paul Palmer

I fully expect Smith to be on this list next year. I think he is going to garner over 90% of the first place votes. Quinn, Slaton and McCoy will also get invited to NYC.

Troy Smith will probably win, But as someone mentioned earlier, Colt McCoy's numbers are very similar

I quickly scanned this and thought you said Vinny Testaverde won the Heisman in the year 1541.

Colt McCoy's playing for the 2007 Trophy.

Is there another D-III Joe Dudek out there who can win it.
