    I'm not Catholic or Protestant, I won't be wearing orange or green (not that I'd play dress-up to "celebrate" a blood feud, anyway).
    Maybe I'll crack open a bottle of scotch and read some Yeats, or something.
    Anything to avoid Amateur Night out at the bars.

    You would be surprised how many times I had to tell reporters and editors from outside the Southwest US that Cinco de Mayo was not Mexico's independence day.

    I did some study in Paris as a young collegian.
    Bastille Day was 10 times the shit show St. Patrick's Day or July 4 is.
    You know the French- always effervescent, to a fault.

    March 17 is amateur night expanded a few hours. You shouldn't need a silly holiday to enjoy a pint before noon.
