Heath Shuler wins

The networks are calling the congressional race for Shuler.
Good thing Steve Spurrier didn't come home to run against him. Shuler would have gone 17-for-43 with three picks.

Doesn't a former underachieving Tennessee QB who fell flat on his face in the NFL deserve his own thread? Proof positive of the dumbing-down of politics if this stiff can win.

 

I presume you'd say the same thing if he was running as a Republican?

 

If he'd been successful in the NFL then Shuler's somehow a more legit candidate? The guy's a successful businessman in real estate now. What makes him unworthy to serve in the House?
