Harrison Ford

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Evil Bastard (aka Chris_L), Jul 13, 2006.

  1. Today is Harrison Ford's 64th birthday. Here are what I consider his top 5 movies:

    1. Indiana Jones
    2. Blade Runner
    3. Witness
    4. The Fugitive
    5. Presumed Innocent

Just missing the cut were Air Force One, Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

Just as an FYI - the Star Wars movies didn't make the list because Harrison wasn't the principal star in any of those.

No, I would say he was a legitimate star by the end of that trilogy. Who didn't want to be Hans Solo? That role made him a star.

How about his first movie, American Graffiti?

    Nothing -- NOTHING -- touches K-19: Widowmaker.

    1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
    2. The Fugitive
    3. Witness
    4. Patriot Games
    5. Presumed Innocent

He was the original to deal with snakes on a plane.

I don't know where you could fit Air Force One in that top five, but it's gotta be there somewhere.

    "Get off my plane."

  7. I'm respecting the ground rules, so American Graffiti doesn;t make it, either.

    1) Witness.
    2) IJ and The Last Crusade.
    3) The Fugitive
    4) Clear And Present Danger
    5) Blade Runner

Best Scene: Dancing ito Sam Cooke in the barn with Kelly McGillis in Witness.

I liked him in The Fugitive
    Sabrina
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
    Indiana Jones (Lost Ark)
    Patriot Games

and American Graffiti wasn't anywhere close to his first movie.

His first movie was "Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round"

  11. Okay, first off he WAS a principal star in the Star Wars movies. He, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were the first three listed when the credits rolled.

Howevuh ... putting Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back (my favorite movie of all time) on the list would be too easy and take out two spots, so I'll play along.

1-Raiders of the Lost Ark: "It's not the years, it's the mileage."
    2-The Fugitive.
    3-Witness
    4-The Last Crusade.
5 (tie)-Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games. It's really the same movie anyway.

Note: I haven't seen Blade Runner, for what it's worth.

  12. FWIW - Ford says that Mosquito Coast was his favorite movie.

I saw the movie after reading the book and was disappointed.

Am I alone in thinking that Ford really just plays the same role with a different haircut in every movie?
