    I thought it was primarily because February was the shortest month and they had to add the day somewhere, but we'll try your theory. I'm not scientific enough to break this down.

    I am intrigued, however, that because there are approximately 365.24 days in a revolution around the sun that Leap Day occurs on a year that can divided by four - except in a year ending with two zeros, in which Leap Day occurs only when the year is divisible by 400.

    Mikey, if you don't get laid tonight, that means leap days happen more frequently than you strapping on a condom.

    If it was 365 1/4 exactly, we could just go one leap day every four years and be done with it.

    But that extra 1/100 of a day we gain every year adds up in a century. So that's why 1800 and 1900 were not leap years, but 2000 was.
