Happiest of days to our grumpy but patient Patron, our dear Cadet (wish you'd post more!) and the ACC guy.

If Luis Ayala could speak English, he'd say Happy Birthday Moddy.

All the best to you both Cadet and ACC.

    Wow, GB..that was cold.

Happy Birthday to the three of you.

And Moddy, if you need cheering up, just remember it could be worse. You could be a Pirates fan.

Wow, one day, three SportsJournalists.com mainstays entering the world.

Wouldn't that qualify as a national holiday in some locales, most notably this one?

We could enjoy a moratorium from some posters, shoot off fireworks, down copious quantites of liquid refreshments, eat ourselves stupid, and ...

Oh, that's right. That's SOP around here. Never mind.

Forget the English, I'll just take Ayala...

You can have him (though I'm not certain that's him in the picture - he wears No. 56 and is a righty and I can't tell if that pitcher is wearing or holding his glove). Anyway, you can have him. The sooner the better.

And thanks to all for the many kind wishes here, on Facebook, via e-mail and on the phone. It means an awful lot even at my advanced age. Been a great day. Heard from both kids before noon and The Queen has some big dinner planned.

I'm honored to share the day with such great folks. And to share a board with many, many more.

Thank you, sincerely, for helping make this day great.

It certainly isn't righty Chris Schroeder, who currently wears No.49 for the Nats, and matches with his profile mugshot.

Maybe he was trying something different, or he wore 49 in the past.

That's Arnie Munoz, and I'd rather see his minor-league ass out there than Ayala.
But it is the thought that counts, GB-Hack, and I got a good laugh!

  12. I said "mine."
    Didn't say how many.
    Left them the check, too.
    Heh-heh-heh.
