On this date in 1949, Jan Smithers was born.

That's right Bailey Quarters is now 57 years old.

But she's still young enough to have a May-December relationship with spnited! :D

That, in fact, would make Ms. Smthers a few months OLDER than me .. the perfect age for me, in fact ;D

This thread is useless without recent pictures

    I'm not a big TV-show-on-DVD buyer.

But if WKRP was ever released, I'd be buying the entire run immediately.

    I miss that show ...

Another reason why YouTube rules . . . go there and do a search for "WKRP."

Among the clips are two or three entire episodes, including "Turkeys Away."

They can't make it happen, because they used so much music on the show and they can't afford to pay the artists off for the rights. It's a damned shame.

Episode where the Doctor develops mike fright after urging listeners to dump their trash at city hall:

Bailey: "Don't be nervous. Just pretend that you're talking to one person. To me."

    Johnny: "OK, I'll try.

"Good afternoon, Cincinnati. This is your Doctor speaking.

"I'd sure love to take you home and kiss you all over in the dark. . . . Uh, but first . . ."

You CAN buy WKRP on DVD, but it's not going to be officially released. There are bootleg DVD sets out there (just googled it) with all 90 episodes. The covers of the ones I saw misspelled "Cincinnati" but you know. You get what you pay for.

Somebody sold sets of DVDs on Ebay last year and I bought one for 60 bucks. Good quality set too.

And Turkeys Away may be the funniest 30 minutes in the history of television.
