Great costume. The downside is, you have to ditch your date at the bottom of a lake.

Best costume I did was The Incredible Hulk. Or Not-so Incredible Hulk, since I'm about 5-9 and 175 pounds.
Got some green face paint, a plain white T-shirt and a pair of purple sweat pants. Cut up the bottom of the pants and the T-shirt and painted all visible body parts green. It wasn't easy.
And it was awkward when I walked to my car and one of my neighbors, who is black, saw me and gave me a look that was somewhere between confused and "What in the FUCK are you doing?" Under the streetlight, it probably looked like I was done up in blackface.

A zombie is the easiest costume to do. All you need for that is clothes you don't want anymore, so you can shred the sleeves and pant legs, then do whatever for makeup. The messier your hair is, the better and you're done.

My niece was a zombie for about five years in a row.

One year, I bought a toy chainsaw, put fake blood on me, and was the Texas Chainsaw Masochist.

That's so bogus. No way barrelman could afford fancy socks like that.

When you're barrelman, that's pronounced fanecie.

And another thing: where the straps to hold the barrel up? No way a dude with pecs like that (or lack thereof) can hold that barrel for any length of time.

I haven't seen a fraud like this since....

You seem to be the expert on barrel costumes. Do you have any pictures of yours?
