The thing I find most interesting about these kind of things is that these are Simmons' children. KSK, With Leather, MMMJD, etc. Not his physical children of course, but his heirs. When he was the outlaw Robin Hood blogger of the Internet, this is how he made a name of himself, with angry, vicious take-downs of mainstream columnists. He was one of the leaders of the revolution, and then he got out and cashed in. And good for him. But I hope he's not mad that the movement he helped create now, mostly, hates his guts. And the backlash is growing. It's sort of like the punk band that gets a record deal after years and years of playing shitty clubs (but having the time of their lives doing it), but now all they do is write catchy hooks for suburban teens. Of course the punk rockers keeping it real grow to hate them. And some of it is jealousy, but some it is an artistic choice because they betrayed the punk ethos.

I think you know which team it is, but you won't find me defending Simmons. I wasn't defending him by suggesting that this particular critic contains a bit of jealousy-I don't particularly like Simmons or his blogging critics.
