    The timing is stunning really. They are in middle of Tonkin Gulf issue and Johnson is ordering pants.

    The attack on the Cole wasn't really in the Persian Gulf, Boom. It was around the corner in Yemen.
     
  8. plus, the tonkin incident is used to draw a comparison as the drums beat for war with Iran. The Tonkin incident was the prelude to Vietnam.

    Understand but the example is clearly apt. Small vessels get close to Navy ship and boom look what happened.
