  1. If Spike Jonze directed it, it's probably in my top 10

On this, did anyone else see the recent Fuse series on 10 videos that rocked the world?

The ones they focused on were:

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" -- Nirvana
    "Like a Prayer" -- Madonna
"Fight the Power" -- Public Enemy
"Hot For Teacher" -- Van Halen
"You Outta Know" -- Alanis Morissette
"Fight For Your Right" -- Beastie Boys
    "Walk This Way" --Run DMC/Aerosmith
"Welcome To The Jungle" -- Guns 'n' Roses
"Baby One More Time" -- Britney Spears
"Here It Goes Again" -- OK GO

Some more off the top of my head:

"Smugglers Blues," Glenn Frey (a great mini-movie)
    "One," Metallica (duh)
    "She Bop," Cyndi Lauper
"Don't Mean Nothing," Richard Marx (shaddup!)
    "Drive," The Cars
just about anything by Tomas Petty, but particularly "Into The Great Wide Open" and "Learning To Fly"

And this one, for the sheer goofiness: Peter Wolf's "Come As You Are"

And for recent videos (i.e. anything after 1995), I got a big kick out of Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" when I saw it on MTV at like 4 am during a "Banned Videos" show. Pretty outrageous.

  4. Love Paradise City, but does it make me gay if I say "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel is the best concert video, with all the African dancers and all that. I still prefer that live version to the recorded one.

Here's the video. It is remarkably NSFW, and for that reason, was rarely aired.

This is a favorite of mine. It's got everything...great song, some attractive young ladies, a dog and a washing machine.

So help me God the first video I thought of when I read that was Amy Grant's "Every Heartbeat." What? The girl and the guy end up flinging laundry at one another at the end!

I'll donate my manhood at the door.

For sheer entertainment value it was tough to beat "California Girls" and "Just A Gigolo" by Diamond Dave. Yeah, he may be a douche with bad hair but he made some great videos....

That's one of three videos where I remember exactly where I was the first time I saw it.
