    No, you don't. You pay the bill through innovation and exploitation of resources. Shuffling money around is nice for the recipients, but it doesn't grow our national wealth in any sense of the word.

    The electric car is not an innovation. Andrew Carnegie owned an electric car over 100 years ago.

    Electric cars would stave off the economic losses that will pile up with the end of fossil fuels, whenever that comes, but I'm not sure I'd say they are the sorts of innovations that cause economic growth.

    Not at the moment anyway. Unless you're only interested in growing the economy of the guys getting our tax money to subsidize putting out shitty cars.

    Yeah, really stupid move trying to take technology developed by the military and market it to the public.

    I guess you would rather GM keep rolling out Caprice Classics.
