Speaking purely journalistically, I nominate this as a thread-of-the-year possibility, on the John Tomase issue at the Boston Herald.

It had it all -- an interesting, important topic, many opinions and different takes, and good points and well thought out arguments and discussion involving many contributing posters. And, despite it's length, the thread never deteriorated.

Which I said in the second post on this thread. I specifically told people not to vote for me.

    Good thing, too.

You stopped the inevitable landslide before it could begin.

Now many of us are unsure who to vote for.

So, as I understand from the thread title, the awards are only about the guys this year?

Only about the guys... if you are willing to use the term "gentlemen" loosely.

Oh, Flasher, they just let us hang around so we can start threads about women stuff, and then they can invade.

Other than that, we serve no purpose.

OK, thanks for clearing that up for me. I'll be in the kitchen if anyone needs me.

  11. Posthumously, OK.
    Or after my European exile.

Rachel Phelps in the opening scene of Major League: "Good morning, gentlemen, and welcome to another season of Indians baseball."

That's where the thread starter was going.
