    I'm not sure he ever really appealed to a significant percentage outside of evangelicals.

    Well, he's got 4 to 8 years to work on that. And even though he's watching his weight, he'll never have to buy Sunday dinners again. Ever.

    Well -- is he running for 2012 (or 2016) or for the VP spot now? I'm guessing the former.

    Also, if he isn't VP, what does he do in the next 4 years to stay relevant?

    I don't think it works that way anymore - 4years is not that long. Edwards' problem wasn't that people forgot about him, if anything the opposite.

    People forget, but Edwards was the Obama of '04. If there wasn't a war going on, he'd have been the nominee and probably the President.
