    Did the Daily News really need to run a stock image with that story?

    You think? I would guess that the most likely parent would be an adult male related to the young girl -- most likely her own father or an uncle.

    What's most likely is that -- if it's true at all -- got a tip or saw some document and never talked to the 11-year-old or her parents.

    There is one generic quote from the grandmother -- supposedly -- and the rest is all medical stuff. Glosses right over questions about who the father is, if any charges have been filed, etc.

    At least the reporter on the Bulgarian 11-year-old mom story had the grace to make up funny quotes and a good back story.

    I can't believe that you guys have been glossing over this tidbit, which was in both stories:

    To be fair, the first article reported Medina's age as six.
