Giants begin purge: Cut Petitgout, Arrington, and Emmons

I'm stunned about Petitgout, a lot less with Arrington, and even less so with Emmons.

The Giants O suffered with Whitfield replacing Petitgout after his injury, but performed better with David Diehl in place of Whitfield, who should have been part of this purge as well.

Arrington started to show flashes against Dallas, but that was all they got from him. Emmons--a huge disappointment.

Maybe LaVar can go back to Washington and do more Eastern Motors commercials.

Ditto on Petitgout. Although he was a walking false start early in his career, he'd matured pretty well in to a reliable left tackle. Maybe there are concerns about him coming back from the injury? Otherwise, you have to assume Reese knows something we don't here.

I'm guessing it's been his history of injuries over the last two-three years, with many back problems and this past season's broken leg. He also has $5M coming next season, so there's savings there.

Still, he was OK, and that's a real commoditiy at LT. Who do they think they're going to get?

David Diehl filled in quite well at LT the last game and the playoff game.

anyone else thinking they are just clearing space to make a big splash in the free agent market?(even tough they still are on the hook for whatever ridiculous amount they gave to LaVar as a signing bonus last year
