Getting touch with Bill Mazeroski?

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, May 29, 2007.

  1. Can anyone here provide help getting in touch with Bill Mazeroski?
I asked for a contact number from the Pirates and was rebuffed. Instead, they sent me an address -- that came back as insufficient.
I'm trying to set up a golf-related interview with him.

I have the old AP phone list, which doesn't have Maz's number included.
Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

    Please PM me.

    Thanks

I believe he's in the Panama City, Fla., area ... if memory serves, his son coached the Gulf Coast Community College baseball team.

EDIT: His son left Gulf Coast two years ago.....

Hell, Maz is the one person NOT on that AP list. All the athletes on there and you gotta pick him? Jeez.

Try the MLB Players Alumni Association in Colorado Springs.

Or try the Hall of Fame.

As you know, it's his fault the Vets Committee was overhauled.

What reason did the Pirates give for "rebuffing" you? I can understand that they might not give you his number (a lot of guys tell the teams not to), but why couldn't they call him and ask if he would be willing to cooperate?

Did you tell the Pirates the address they provided didn't work?

Assuming this is a legitimate story for a legitimate outlet, I don't see why they wouldn't help. He's still affiliated with them as a ST instructor.

  12. They gave me an address.
When I emailed them back, I was told that was the address they use. They told me I should try the address again. Never mind the whole process has taken about two weeks.
