I've never felt Seinfeld was particularly funny. Ever.

Was it as funny as Friends?

I think he probably gets too much credit for Seinfeld because, you know, its his name on the show. And JLD probably doesn't get enough, considering that she's won like a dozen Emmy awards AFTER the show. But he's definitely good on that show. That is pretty much his one gear though, and he's shown zero desire to really expand himself as a comic or an actor. It's kind of wild that like, Adam Sandler, is the last guy standing from those 90s mega star comedians. (I'm positive I'm forgetting others, though.)

About -- in other words, not very.

I'm with you, not my cup of tea. Seinfeld was mean-spirited at heart. Neither show was funny but if others say they were, whatever.

I don't know the exact turning point, but early Friends is fun. Its much more of a comedy with some relationship drama elements thrown in, mostly via Ross' pining for Rachel. However, that comes to dominate the show pretty early on, and it just leads to a downward spiral once the cast pairs up in various ways. Happy Endings (2011) is more like the version of Friends that doesn't get so bogged down in weird relationship shit and focuses more on jokes.

Happy Endings! Amazing show. Wish it had more than 2.5 seasons.

How dare you sully the careers of Tim Allen and Jim Belushi.

Even accidentally insulting Friends is a raw nerve on social media.
