    It led to riots that led to change. If that is the path they are on in Iraq, it would be good for the country.

    The anti-gay laws in the U.S. in the 1960s were among the worst in the western world.

    Interesting thing to me always was that the Stonewall Inn was owned by the Mafia, which was happy to step in and serve overpriced, watered down liquor to people who couldn't go anywhere else--at least if they wanted to dress like drag queens. In return the mob paid off the cops not to raid the places. I'm not sure what broke down in the "system" when they raided the Stonewall.
