Word is one person has already interviewed with another coming in soon, and two regional candidates are still in the mix.
Anyone have any ideas who the P-I might be going after?

Last I heard, the new AME of sports accepted, then, in a matter of days, backed away from the position.

 

The AME was/is Bob Condor, the P-I's Living Well columnist.
Can anyone confirm that he's already backed out?

Word is rejection letters went out last week and Seattle is looking to make a significant hire. Anybody heard if an offer or hire has been made?

 

No, but I can confirm that I got my rejection letter.

 

Not trying to flame here, just asking: How "significant" of a hire can you make at a 150,000-circ paper which may or may not be around in a couple years? I just find it hard to believe a big name is going to take this job -- unless it's someone jumping off the DMN ship.

 

Which is a pretty good possibility.
