The Fresno Bee is looking for a dynamic and creative sports reporter with outstanding writing and multimedia skills to cover Fresno State athletics, primarily the football and men's basketball beats. Candidates must have tenacious reporting skills and a clear writing style that translates to both print and web publishing. They must be able to juggle a fast-paced news environment, develop strong sources within the beat and be a team player who can handle any kind of general assignment. Candidates will be expected to cover non-sports developments on the beat, such as the university’s annual athletic budget, fundraising and courts. In addition, candidates should illustrate an ability to regularly contribute enterprise stories that provide analysis and take readers beyond box scores and coach-speak. A big component of the job will be supplementing the print product with multi- and social media content and other outlets that foster reader interaction and immediate delivery of breaking news. Candidates should have experience, beyond college, covering Division I beats. This reporter also will be asked to contribute some night GA shifts and work weekends. Acceptable driving record required.

Nice beat which has featured the likes of Andy Katz, Jeff Passan, etc. But it might be a good idea if someone could list where one could send a resume, clips, etc. Should be a lot of resumes to sift through for this one.

This is one of McClatchy's flagships. It's in the heart of California's farm belt and one of the affordable areas of the state. This beat has never lacked for stories on and off the field either in the last decade (Tark, Title IX and the usual array of crime). Four hours to San Francisco or LA, a few hours to the coast and a mere five hours to Tahoe.

And I'll write your cover letter for $250.
Mile_High will redesign your resume for $250.
We might even offer you our exclusive Miami Herald Discount rate ... $499.99 for both.
We'll find a courier to swing by your parents' house, pick it up and deliver it to FedEx for $40.
You won't have to lift a finger ... which sounds like it might be a very good thing.

Great paper. One of the best medium-sized papers out there. It's not a coincidence that Katz, Prisbell and Passan all made huge jumps after working here...
