    He had a better batting average there, than on his Broadway reviews.

    Keith Olbermann couldn't, as they say, hold Rich's jock. And Rich is worth about a dozen Maureen Dowds.

    Unless he wanted to do more arts stuff, it's a difficult move to understand -- he had acres of perhaps the primest real estate for an opinion writer.

    With Bush gone and gay marriage now socially acceptable he ran out of things to write about at the NYT.

    I'm sure he wanted to do criticism again. The Times would never let one of its precious op-ed writers do anything so uncosmic as that. Imagine if David Brooks said he wanted to write columns from the Super Bowl.
