A friend of mine is part owner of a new vodka called SurReal. It's popped up in random places around the country, and apparently it's among the first Latvian vodkas to be so widely distributed in the U.S.

It's in some of the nicer restaurants in DC - Citronelle, CityZen, BLT Steakhouse - and their website mentions debuts in LA and Minnesota.

I'm a beer and wine guy myself, but if you happen to be more of a spirits person, keep an eye out for it and let me know what you think. It even comes on four flavors - regular vodka, ginger peach, grape and red berry creme.

I had some Pearl Vodka for the first time not too long ago -- it's got a faint pomegranite flavor in the background.

I did four shots in a span of about an hour. Smooth, smooth, smooth.

    I'd recommend trying it.

Flavoured vodka is an affront to serious drinkers everywhere.

Did you put an umbrella in it too?

People who spell 'flavored' 'flavoured' are an affront to serious spellers everywhere.

Yep, so it should be right up your alley, so to speak. I probably could even throw in about three cherries for you, too.

The mountains of Napa, the lush Willamette Valley, the rolling hills of France ... and Pottsville.

    Fits right in!

JR, they have unflavo(u)red for you. :)

Funny. Not what the OED says.

You guys can't even spell "cheque" correctly. :)

According to Mythbusters, if you buy cheap, shitty vodka and run it through a Brita filter five times or more, it becomes very good vodka.
