OU's wins were reinstated after initially being vacated from the Rhett Bomar scandal. Bowden may lose wins now so the NCAA can look tough but in a few months the NCAA will reverse the decision quietly.

Unless the coaches in the other 10 sports at FSU are going to lose victories as well there is no reason - other than grandstanding - to ding Bowden.

Which isn't a bad thing, ding Bowen.

Men's swimming losing a scholarship is a big deal, how many full scholarships do they get anyway. Football loses 6 scholarships in 3 years, big fucking deal, there goes the third string weakside LB and the 4th team left guard.

If the NCAA wants to do something, pull their bowl eligibility for a couple of years. NCAA wont do that, there as ruthless and self interested as Kaing Guek Eav.

It's been a rule for the complete history of college sports: you play ineligible players, if one even sets foot on the field court, you forfeit, you lose the game, the other team WINS. Open, shut, dead-bang, end of discussion, end of story.

A few years ago, in keeping with the creepng pussification of society and the "it's nobody's fault" mindset, this rule started to develop leaks, and so we got the "vacated" bullshit. Instead of PUNISHING the offending team, it's just wiped off the books. Everybody just pretends it didn't happen. Then, the forfeitures themselves started getting wiped off the books and revoked. The message: See whatever you can get away with.

Those who rip Paterno and Bowden should be reminded that you will be old, too, at some point.

Will you still be able to bring it at 75 or 80 like they can?

America still pisses on old people for being old.

    That's embarrassing as hell.

Would you rather have Karl Dorrell? Gene Chizik?

What will you accomplish when you're 75?

These guys get a bad rap, and mostly from critics with lesser qualifications.

Personally, I think Bowden gets a bad rap because he coaches Free Shoes U, not because he's old.

Normally, I'd agree. But there are some cases in which schools are getting punished for things that happened under previous coaches and players. Why should current regimes get punished for the sins of the past?
