1969 sucked pretty bad. Greg Cook to Cincinnati at No. 5 and Marty Domres to San Diego at No. 9

Having said that, excluding 2007, that list suggest they've gotten better. There was a pretty good run of suck in the '80s and '90s.

Which one was the most disappointing: 2002, 2003, 2006 or 2007?

Cook had some really good potential, but he got hurt.

I, for one, find it funny to see Troy Aikman and Mike Elkins grouped together. Mike Elkins?

Don't anybody be knockin' Spurgeon Wynn! All he needed was a chance!

And slept more than a 15-year-old dog. The guy slept the entire training camp.

But he sure could punt. A double-threat guy!

A horrifically bad decision on draft day made even worse by chasing Brees in free agency.

Did Tupa not make the first two-point conversion in NFL history?

There wasn't a quarterback taken that year until the 68th pick. Double wow.

Also, can there be a bigger dropoff of NFL success on that list than Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf.

I remember the Chargers trading the first pick (Vick) and getting LaDainian, and then watching the draft and praying that Brees would drop down to San Diego at 32. They were answered of course.

And then Brees became one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and won a Super Bowl. Just not with the Chargers. Figures.

Yeah, I remember his name coming up from the middle of the first round on and being pretty stunned that he slid out of the round. Safe to say he's done pretty well for himself...
