Finally, a marching band does something cool

This is freaking awesome. Marching band forms up into the shape of a giant kicker, then walks the formation down the field and kicks a "football." This might be the coolest thing I've ever seen from a non-SWAC band.

 

That is pretty nifty.

 

I thought this was going to be about a marching band playing the Bed Intruder song.

 

Wow, does that clarinet player repeatedly fuck up the high note, or what?

 

I thought this thread was about Vincent Ludwig getting marched on by USC.

Yeah, I was going to come in ripping when I saw the thread title, but then I saw you gave the SWAC some love.

That was pretty cool to watch. And took a LOT of planning.

 

That is absolutely fantastic -- I can't even imagine the effort that went into planning everyone's steps. I don't know that much about how marching bands work out all that stuff but it had to take a long while for whoever drew it up.

I enjoyed the NC A&T videos as well.

 

That was a great video until the kicker hooked it wide right.

I don't think the planning of the movements would have been all that hard. My buddy is a band director in Atlanta and uses software to plan his shows, which maps out all of the moves for each marcher in a grid like fashion. The trouble is in the execution because thereis a lot of stop and go that can get confusing. I think the concept would have beenthe hardest part to come up with.
