I love how when the U.S. gets its ass stomped in the Olympics, it's because we just send our best athletes, not the best team. There's no one (save Iverson) willing to sacrifice and do the small things.

Then, when Krzyzewski tries to do just that, he gets calls of favoritism and not picking one of the 30 best players.

    Pick your poison.

EDIT: PDB beat me to it and did it better.

Well, they have plenty of multiple-position players and big men.
I don't think they have enough shooting. There's got to be a spot on this team for J.J. Redick and Adam Morrison. I do think Joe Johnson, Bruce Bowen and Shane Battier will make up a pretty good second unit.

Hinrich does the little things. So do Bruce Bowen and Dwyane Wade. I'd argue Elton Brand is a gritty-type player, as well.

Bruce Bowen just celebrated his 84th birthday.

What'd his kids get him, another hat that doesn't fit?

Wade and Brand do the little things and that was why they were two of the best players in the league last season. Hinrich is there to be Chris Paul's backup. Bowen is there as the defensive specialist. Like Battier, they have specific roles. Battier is there because he come off the bench and provide shooting, defense and rebounding and be an energy guy. He won't ever bitch about minutes and will be a good chemistry guy because he knows his job to make Wade/LeBron/et al. look good.

Yeah, he did a great job in all those Memphis playoff wins. Oh, wait ...

He was/is a reserve in Memphis. He'll be a reserve for the World Championship team.
