Holy crap, I've fallen out of dickhead's top 5. I must have had a very bad week.

That's what I was thinking, Spnited. You've been a very good boy. Nobody's poked the two of you with sticks like a couple of tarantulas in a box.

Would this be the right time to tweak Beej and his unnatural, unholy love of obnoxious Night Ranger and that horrific, inner-ear-bleeding-inducing "Sister Christian," which sends me into Beavis-like paroxyms of manic, channel-changing hysteria every time I hear the first two notes?

Or should I save that for another time?

Amazing - The Mets have more mishandled PR issues than any pro sports team I can think of.
I am surprised that Bondy did not write about the time Jay outed a well known female writer.

Who are the eight Yankees PR guy in 30 years? Rick Cerrone probably lasted the longest.

    Rick Cerrone
    Marty Appel
Ken Ray (?? on the last name...former O's beat writer though, I think)
    Harvey Greene
    Jeff Idelson

Forgetting three others, obviously, and I assume Jason Zillo isn't counted among those who served under Steinbrenner.

Perhaps he likes a man with good taste in shoes.

Jeff Idelson has done well for himself in his departure.

There are more than eight. An SI story from 1999, mentions 13:
    http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1015784/3/index.htm

The ones I can piece together, not in the right order, but close for the first few:
    Bob Fishel
    Marty Appel
    Mickey Morabito
    Larry Wahl
    Dave Szen
    Irv Kaze
    Ken Nigro
    Joe Safety
    Harvey Greene
    Jeff Idelson
    Rob Butcher
    Lou D'Ermilio
    Rick Cerrone
    Jason Zillo
