    It was a bit like one of those, "Hello . . . Hello . . . I'm here! Look at me! I'm out of the closet! . . . Remember me? . . . Hello . . . Hello . . ." sort of outings.

    That's my sense too.

I was just taken aback because I had paid attention to her back in her hit-making days. Well, I listened to and watched more country then, and I thought she was really attractive as well as a good singer who had some catchy songs. Like a lesser-known Sara Evans or Lee Ann Womack.

Oh, guess what else came out today? Chely Wright's CD and memoir.

    Purely coincidental, I'm sure.

I'm expecting a real good Brad Paisley song over this - something like "When It's Not You, It's Me, And It's True."

I don't really agree that kd lang's not mainstream country. She's won two country Grammys, and recorded songs with Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Brenda Lee and Kitty Wells.

Yeah, she went pop after a while, but so did Shania Twain. And Twain is certainly considered mainstream country.

Splitting hairs maybe, but I don't think Ms. Wright is quite the trailblazer she thinks she is.

And now here's Brad Paisley with his new hit single "I Drove Her Gay Then Drove Her Home"
