    That is absolutely insane.

Suspend the guy for a season for lying to NCAA investigators?

That is a completely over the top punishment.

But a pretty good way to send a message though.

And there is also a chance it will be reduced on appeal.

If sending a message is more important than actually making a fair ruling, then sure.

I'm pretty sure that's not the way it's supposed to work though.

You didn't really expect the NCAA to consider the best interests of the student/athlete, did you?

I think it is in the best interests of Dez Bryant to sit out the rest of the year. He is a #1 pick and OSU isn't winning the MNC.

Of course not. But this still seems ultra-draconian, even for them.

I'm pissed that my local ABC affiliate will be showing Texas and Okie State instead of USC-Oregon.
    Boo to them.
And suspending Bryant for a year was dumb, but it certainly makes picking Texas as a winner much easier.

Where have you been? This is the NCAA we're talking about.

I would give a toe arm to be at either game Saturday night--

I bet USC @ Oregon is an absolute madhouse, prime-time, Halloween Night.....

I would venture Texas @ Okie St. is a little more subdued, but not by much. I can hear Eskimo Joe's calling me from here.

    This year's sign that the world is coming to an end;

Kansas State will probably end up winning the Big 12 North.

Next; On ABC; The Big 12 Championship Game, Kansas State vs. Texas

    Stop it.
