One of the backups is Alonzo Highsmith's son who was lightly recruited.

LSU is going to give Alabama one hell of a game and may very well beat them. Everyone is already looking forward to the Iron Bowl, but Bama has a lot of work to do over the next two weeks to get there with only one loss.

Attention option football fans: Air Force at Army, noon eastern time. (this is yet another game on CBS College network ...)

If Air Force wins, it can claim its first Commander in Chief trophy since 2002.

Both teams have five wins, and Army is vastly improved this year, but Air Force has faced much tougher competition. I like the Falcons to win by 3.

Here's hoping Army busts out the all-camo uni, and Air Force responds with that alternate set based on the Thunderbird, or some such jet. Twoud be sweet.

Word in the press box among the writers from Miami on Saturday was that the Canes decided they want to redshirt Highsmith, so he has an "alleged" injury.

Just what the world needs -- more Big East football:

It's nice to be wanted and all, but TCU can do better.

Army wore the camo unis against VMI last week. Keydets wore their Stonewall Jackson forage cap helmets.

Subtracting Utah & BYU and adding Boise does not make the league better - or a BCS AQ bid-worthy conference.

But it will still be better than the Big East

But the Big East will still be a BCS AQ league.

Advantage, Big East. If the opportunity to move for all sports is there TCU will bolt in a heartbeat.

    And it should.
