I remember the intro to "Ironside" scaring me as a little kid. Startling music, then a silhouette of Raymond Burr with a target on him getting shot and then in a wheelchair. Freaked me out.

 

How could anyone forget Bonanza?

Or Dobie Gillis?

Or Leave it to Beaver

"Starring Jerry Mathers as 'The Beaver'"

And finally, the greatest kid's show ever before Sesame Street, Captain Kangaroo..

And it was years before I learned that Raymond Burr wasn't wheelchair-bound in real life. I think it was when he revived Perry Mason for the TV movies in the '80s that I finally realized - "hey, that guy can walk!!"

 

Also have to mention the rockin' Johnny Rivers opening to Secret Agent Man.
