I remember the intro to "Ironside" scaring me as a little kid. Startling music, then a silhouette of Raymond Burr with a target on him getting shot and then in a wheelchair. Freaked me out.

    How could anyone forget Bonanza?

    Or Dobie Gillis?

    Or Leave it to Beaver

"Starring Jerry Mathers as 'The Beaver'"

And finally, the greatest kid's show ever before Sesame Street, Captain Kangaroo..

    Am I dating myself?

    Ditto.

And it was years before I learned that Raymond Burr wasn't wheelchair-bound in real life. I think it was when he revived Perry Mason for the TV movies in the '80s that I finally realized - "hey, that guy can walk!!" :D

    Hands down. :)

I used an mp3 editor to take this song, from about :51 seconds on, to make the worlds greatest ring tone.

    I said lunch, not launch!

Besides that, everyone else participating in this thread is full of massive fail. Bow to the master of intros ... (after all of the bullshit commercials)

    http://www.hulu.com/watch/34915/the-rockford-files-just-another-polish-wedding

    A distant second ... a Quinn Martin production ...

JR -- old fart that he is --got to Bonanza before I could.

To those of us who grew up with black-and-white TV, to see the Bonanza opening "in living color" was beyond spectacular.

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.
